Kate Middleton Shows Off Her Patriotic Style in Union Jack-Inspired Look
Ahead of King Charles’ coronation celebrations, Kate Middleton stepped out in London sporting a look that perfectly matched the Union Jack, representing the United Kingdom in a bold red Eponine London coat. The Princess completed her outfit with a bright blue lining, featuring a mandarin collar and large buttons down the front. She had previously worn this coat twice before, including during the launch of a photography book called “Hold Still” in 2021, and again on a visit to Cardiff Castle during the Platinum Jubilee.
Underneath the wool coat, Kate wore a Suzannah button-up dress, which she has worn on multiple occasions, including during a 2022 visit to the Grenfell Tower fire memorial. She paired the look with a Mulberry Amberley bag in white, Maria Black earrings, and Jimmy Choo pumps.
Kate and Prince William recently visited the Dog & Duck pub ahead of King Charles’ coronation, where they spoke with workers about how they’re preparing for the big event set to take place on Saturday. William kept it casual, wearing a brown blazer with a light blue button-up shirt and navy pants. They took photos with throngs of fans ahead of the biggest royal event in 70 years.
Despite the pomp and circumstance, the official anointing of Charles as king is set to be a very modern and decidedly dressed-down event. Kate and Queen Camilla will both wear “modernized” gowns, and there’s talk that Middleton will skip a tiara entirely for the event, while Harry is rumored to have been denied the opportunity to don typical military regalia and will wear a classic suit instead.
Camilla has chosen British fashion designer Bruce Oldfield, a favorite of the late Princess Diana’s, to design her coronation gown after the palace previously announced that the ceremony will be a “scaled-down” affair. Middleton, on the other hand, revealed that her outfit for the big day will similarly contain a “hint of blue” in keeping with the classic colors of her home country.
In summary, Kate Middleton’s Union Jack-inspired look showcases her love for her home country, and it will be exciting to see how she and the other members of the royal family dress for King Charles’ coronation.
