I often use the term “Fine Art Bride” when describing my clients and the weddings they envision…and if you’re wondering what I mean by that, well, this video by Hugo Film Co. and images from Sean Thomas Photography illustrates it perfectly. I paint with fabrics and appliques, a photographer paints in light and mood, and a florist in flowers. But no matter the medium, all require an attention to detail, a subtle sense of color along with composition and refinement, that an artist conveys in their work. There is a quality that comes through things (and photographs) that are created from the heart with thought and intention, and when it all comes together, beauty beyond the ordinary is the result. When Sean and Charming Peony Studio shared the vision for this styled shoot at the Sunstone Villa, I knew I had the perfect dress…our brand new Flora gown. This long sleeved floral beauty was the first design of The Three Graces Collection, and hadn’t been photographed yet. We were literally still sewing the finishing touches just days before, but we finished her up just in time and sent her off for her debut. Refined details, lush (and yes, maybe non-traditional) colors, and a Dutch-master embroidered gown are all elements you might find in a fine art wedding. Silver Guipure lace and iridescent green ribbon meander along this cathedral length train blooming in vibrant floral embroidery in hues of sage, blush, pink and red blossoms. The illusion neckline, open back and sheer long sleeves make the most romantic adornment for our bride. The Flora gown will really set the tone for the entire wedding, and of course we’ll provide swatches for your florist and event planner to inspire their mood boards and design direction…let the planning begin! Luscious florals from Charming Peony Studio and (almost) too pretty to eat sweets from Hey There Cupcake…it’s all so dreamy and decadent. I can just hear the music and laughter floating on a warm breeze…this is definitely a party your guests will enjoy and remember for years to come! And what could be a more perfect setting than the Sunstone Winery modelled on a French villa with marble and stone light-filled corners at every turn? I imagine every bride hopes for frame-worthy wedding images to hang in her home. A reminder of the emotions and beauty of the day, as well as a very personal masterpiece to celebrate your love. Would any artist paint in just one color? Obviously, not me! If you’re looking for a gown that is unique, unexpected, and truly special, I can’t wait to create your fine art wedding dress. And if you’ve already been a CP bride, well, 5 or 10 year vow-renewals sound like a great excuse to celebrate and get dressed up all over again! We create each dress right here in our Los Angeles Atelier, and make suggestions to best flatter our brides, from tall and thin to petite, to voluptuous curves. Not only will your dress fit and flatter your shape beautifully, you will feel like a living work of art.
