And while the People’s Princess died at the young age of 36, she certainly left her mark on the world and of course, on style. Diana is famous for having fun with fashion. In the ’80s is was all about bold colors—fuchsia! cerulean! amethyst!—prints, and the most decadent collection of diamond tiaras, befitting of a princess. Later on in the ’90s she went for a sleeker look in line with the times. With Gianni Versace as a close friend and go-to designer, she transformed into Di 2.0. Her look got ultra sophisticated with elegant suits in sherbet hues and body conscious tank dresses in stark white or midnight blue, accentuating her piercing blue.
